The popular Rock Soul Funk Music group from San Jose, Sweet HayaH, has been invited to perform in Super Bowl 50 #SB50 activities. The band was invited last week and accepted the invitation over the weekend to perform live at two separate major Super Bowl events. The band will make an appearance at the San Francisco Super Bowl Headquarters on Friday February 5. Their show will take place at Visit San Jose's booth #IKnowTheWay at Super Bowl City presented by Verizon where they will perform on a small platform stage in front of a 20’ metal storage container which is the “home” of the San Jose Jazz Exhibit. The Live music for the Super Bowl City is curated by San Jose Jazz #SanJoseJazz, representing the best of the Bay Area.

Super Bowl City is spread out around the Justin Herman Plaza area. It stretches from the Plaza to the Embarcadero around to the foot of San Francisco's Market Street. Visit San Jose's #IKnowTheWay to San Jose booth will be highlighted with the IKnowTheWay Hashtag. It is located at Exhibit #17, across from Federal Reserve Bank. Sweet HayaH will perform twice at this location (near the corner of Drumm and Market Streets) from 6:30 to 8:30pm on Friday.

The bands second event and 3rd performance in their Mini Super Bowl Tour will bring them to Levi Stadium Saturday morning for a featured performance on live TV as part of the official Super Bowl show, “KPIX Morning News, Live From Super Bowl City!” This show will air from 7-10am Saturday morning, February 6.

The KPIX Morning Show will be broadcasting from Sens Restaurant in San Francisco. Sweet HayaH will be broadcasting live between 7 and 8am and the planned format will be that of a typical TV show’s hosted musical talent, as they will be leading into and out of commercial breaks. The news anchors will ask the band questions remotely (from Sens Restaurant) about what it means to the band to be involved in the Super Bowl City performance. This show will be broadcast locally by CBS and fed to their affiliates nationwide.

Sweet HayaH is proud to be included in these festivities as part of this historic 50th Super Bowl event. The bands manager, Gary Greenberg says, “We are honored to be part of this historic event, the 50th Super Bowl and the band can’t wait to share their sweetness with a TV audience.” He adds, “They’re excited about their first live TV broadcast ever, and the fact that it is the Super Bowl takes it to a whole new level of excitement for the band.”

ABOUT SWEET HAYAH
HayaH is the Arabic and Hebrew word for “life", and Sweet HayaH has a lust for life that pulsates through the music they create. Sweet HayaH is a high-energy festival band, but don’t think that the sweetness makes them pure sugar. There is genuine musical complexity layered into their Rock-Soul-Funk blend, and if there was to be one band to represent the diversity of culture and exuberance found in the Bay Area it would be Sweet HayaH. All of the members of Sweet HayaH were first local musicians in their own right, and since they converged the band’s reach has grown bigger and bigger. Sweet HayaH has kept up an impressive touring schedule and taken their high energy live show all over in 2015 including a run to SXSW. Sweet HayaH has had the honor of performing with some great bands and artists along the way sharing the stage with living legends like Robby Krieger of The Doors.

It doesn’t matter whether Sweet HayaH are opening or headlining, whether they are playing to their local following or to new audiences, the band always puts on the type of show that invigorates the soul and certainly gets them invited back every time. The connection they make with their audience is palpable, and their dedication to their community and music scene is deep. Sweet HayaH loves to make their shows a platform for local talent to guest star, and for people to connect through music. According to their producer Todd Jeremias, the band's energy and vibe are the perfect backdrop for their exceptionally gifted front woman Nehal Abuelata who often draws comparisons to legendary vocalists like Tina Turner, Carol King, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse even Janis Joplin to name a few...

UPCOMING RELEASE
Sweet HayaH will release their first fully produced 12-track album "Gentle Lies" this year, to be followed by a tour. One of their upcoming singles features a track where the band has included twenty of their friends singing the chorus. Through their live and studio performances, the group’s dynamics and interactive nature continue to invite more “Sweet” Hearts to join in the celebration of life.

Sweet HayaH includes:
·         Nehal Abuelata (lead vocals/keyboard)
·         Devin Moreno (guitar/backup vocals)
·         Josh Gardner (drums/backup vocals)
·         Aaron Marquez (bass)
·         Brandon Garcia (trumpet/tambourine)
·         Kosuke Okamura (percussion)

Super Bowl City presented by Verizon is the Host Committee’s free-to-the-public fan village designed to celebrate the milestone Super Bowl 50 and to highlight its unique place in the Bay Area. It will be open from January 30 – February 7, 2016.
